Mediterraneo RestaurantPlot 31 John Babiha (Acacia Avenue) , Kololo, Kampala
great service, attention to detail most of the time. love the weekly specials should do a lunch menu or a set menu for lunch. beautiful restaurant
I stayed at Villa Kololo (the boutique hotel attached to the restaurant) for 2 days on my last trip to Kampala, so managed to have both breakfast and dinner here. The Ambiance is amazing and service is excellent. Decent food & wine list too. The breakfast was the perfect way to start the day, with poached eggs, toast, fruits, coffee and juices.
I tend to be a sucker for starters and desserts. Mediterraneo happens to be the perfect place for exactly that. This time I started with the Antipasto Misto, a combination platter of salami, parma ham, olives and grilled aubergine. This was right up my lane of taste and I was happily surprised by the aubergine, which usually is not a favourite but came out nicely in this combination. Since I’m can’t handle a three course meal I decided to go straight to dessert and just have a taste of my dates main course, a Penne Gorgonzola with Rucola. And again I was impressed, the Gorgonzola and Pasta combination is unbeatable and the portion was rather generous. To finish up we shared a chocolate soufflé, and considering the chocoholic in me, it is just a treat out of this world. I left the place feeling happy and satisfied, the service was on point (as always) and it is without a doubt a good date location.
